The color itself is not as important as good, even lighting. Use a waveform monitor (software is fine) to check lighting, all of the greenscreen part should be on the same line for an optimum key.
Good choice. While I have never used a juicedlink, I built a preamp using the same chips as in the juicedlinks. The preamp ICs in there (THAT 1512) are very high quality, and not cheap.
You don't need a mixer to use 2 Sennheiser EKs on a HV40, all you need is a dual mono minijack to stereo minijack Y adapter, the 2 mono end go to the receivers, the stereo to the camera. If you do...
The only Canon Cameras that require a EF-Lens are the 5DMKII and 1DsMKIII. All others, including 7D, take EF-S Lenses.
IS is only neccesary on lager focal lengths. I recently shot a performance...
or, as a workaround set the aperture to the maximum aperture possible in full tele. You loose a bit of light sensitivity at the wide end, but won't get the flickering anymore.
@alfa: which monitor is that, and what resolution does it have?
5dMKII
Simple, but effective. Duct-Tape hood with Sennheiser wireless receiver.

Be aware that this retailer does not state the angle of the beam. I once tried out something similar in a store, and the beam was a spot of light just like that of a flashlight. Incandescend or...
I have found that a 800x480 resolution screen (7") can give accurate focus with the bare HV20. I checked the results on a 24" 1920x1200 screen over component. A DOF adapter makes it a bit harder...
For the use you described I would reccomend a stereo mic, and maybe a micstand and extension for the school play. The stereo panorama is much nicer for the forest, general family taping or anything...
If you decide to get a Preamp, the juicedlinks are the best soundwise. While I don't have one, I built myself a pre using the same components, and greatly improved signal to noise ratio.
The...
1) Beyerdynamic MCE72 PV CAM for Stereo (2 cardioid electret capsules at 120˚ angle), atmo and general taping, as well as concert recordings
2) Sennheiser ew165 (wireless condenser, super cardioid)...
I have that exact Monitor. The actual resolution is 800 by 480 pixels. Upconversion is, excuse my language please, crappy, and only available on VGA. I immediately opened this monitor and added a BNC...
That's just a regular mic stand! They're usually heavy, which is a good thing on stage, but not when lifting it in the air.
while sending video out the av/hones jack, the audio level is not hot enough to be useful with headphones. You will need an external headphones amp when you're splitting the uput signal, or let the...
I leave it on all the time as long as I don't have to zoom in more than 50% of the range and cannot remove it for the zoom.
Most of the time, I need the wide angle.
the sennheiser ew100 series are more affordable than mentioned above, I believe at around $600. Even the old G1 Series are still very reliable, and relatively cheap on ebay.
the 52mm setp-up ring ist only, when someone gets the 52mm Raynox. You don't need a step up-ring for the A1 hood, sinde it's not threaded (clamps over the adaptor)
Take the drive apart, the more platters-the better, and fill the space between the platters with lead, making sure its' even everywhere. Remove the head as well.
It might work, if you're handy...
I would step up to the Velbon DV7000 for stability - I'm happy I chose the DV7000 instead of the smaller one.
a simple cable, as shoprt as possible, from the TRS plug to a 1/8" plug - if you only have mono have the T (preamp side) be hot, and short R and S to ground - on the camcorder have T and R coneected...
Another, smaller on-camera mic is the sennheiser MKE400. I woulkd reccomend a small lens hood to prevent/reduce lens flare when it's sunny.
You might want to get a shock-mount for that mic and switch it with the LED light on the Handle to get even cleaner Audio (less Tape-noise).
I recently bought a ball-head on ebay, which can be mounted to a mic stand (boom pole) as well as to a tripod, and has a top plate which can be rotated to a hot-shoe mount for a flash or a standard...
