    Default 7 inch, 1440 x 234 monitor

Hey guys. Been a while since I've been on.

So Ive been researching some stuff and parts regarding some DIY stereo speakers.
I cam across this on amazon by accident. Looks decent for an external monitor. I'm not sure what you guys are paying these days, but this seems decent to me given the price. Plus 2 A/V inputs. Even if it doesn't run off batteries, wouldn't be hard to make a battery pack.

    hey zagnut, welcome back!!!!!

1440 x 234 is ONLY 480 x 234 (they misleadingly count each pixel thrice, one for each color) , so it's NOT very good resolution.

I've got a similar one, and it's pretty useless for accurate focusing or evaluation of color and contrast...

    It's not ideal, but:

Please check post #10 & #11 here. For me, it was ok. Nothing to compare with an HDMI monitor, but it was ok.

    Thanks!

I thought it was too good to be true. I've also come across two others under $100. One is a 8inch 800x600 and a 7inch 1440x234. Both would need battery packs, but not bad deals I spose for someone looking for a cheap external.

For anyone that wants to frame or monitor through it: on a jib/crane or even only to save the battery on the camcorder while using it as an external monitor, it's ok. I've got great results using my PYLE monitor with my DOF adapter (even with the low resolution of the monitor) and at the time, I've save some cash.
Since, I've invested in a Lilliput monitor and I don't regret it.

Again, that 1440x234 is probably only 480x234, counting RGB pixels separately

    I'd trust that 800x600 a bit more...
