    Default Katy & Dallas @ Midnite Cafe

    Hey guys;

    I've been keeping myself busy these last two months. I just finished working on the music video, then I'm contracted to do some shoots at the latest Midnite Cafe (last Friday!).
    These guys are a rather talented couple. I reccommend checking out "Mad World" and "Wicked Games" in particular.

    Problems I know about but couldn't fix: Audio blowout in first clip, and Horrid camera shake from Tripod adjustment in the second clip (due to a tape dropout from one camera, and the other camera hanging from my shoulder pointed at the floor).

    Let me know what you guys think!

    My kind of music. I was captivated by her voice, great job, Daniel. Did you get an audio feed from the house or did you use some of your own mic equipment?

    Sounded good.

    I noticed a little "jostling" around of the tripod but paid little attention to it. Thoroughly enjoyed the ones I watched, the two you suggested plus "Human Nature".

    Cheers Bruce! I did get the house mixing board feed, and a little bare HV30 "abience" mixed in as well (a suggestion from cgbier on previous videos). I took a little extra care this time and properly mixed it in. There's only a very small amount during the performance, but once the song is done, I've mixed in the ambience to be a little higher volume (so you can hear crowd applause and such).
    I tell you, these videos do not capture the true feeling of Midnite Cafe. If you're a coffee person, walking into the building would make your mouth water... the coffee aroma and the general feel of the cafe is just amazing!

    Shooting style was one static (unmanned) camera... (A HV30) the wide shot; One HV30 on a manned tripod that my partner was adjusting; Then I had my GH1 on my Shoulder Shooter with the Pentax 50mm 1.7 (aperature fully open as well). The closeups with creamy shallow DOF is me with the GH1 (Really need to learn to stand still when I film!).

    Thanks again Bruce
