Question Capture HV30 footage from a different camera?

HI! I have someone that wants to buy my HV30 and I really want to sell it already. The problem is that i still have footage on a tape that i filmed with my HV30. Basically what I'm asking is. Can i capture my HV30 footage with lets say a Canon GL2 or other kind of capture cam on the computer? If i sell my camera, i wont have to worry about about capturing my hv30 footage from my tape.

GL2 won't work. You'll need an HDV camera.

You can't capture it to a hard drive or more permanent storage while you still have the HV 30?

Exactly what I was thinking. You indicated that somebody wanted to buy it, not that you already sold it? Just capture everything onto HDD before you sell it.

In any event, you can capture with any camera/deck system designed for HDV.

Yeah... if the tape is only one hour... it'll only take an hour. It can't wait that long?

So little time, so much to do. Recall the Popular Science of the 50s which depicted man sipping Mai Tais while our robots did all the manual labor? What ever happened to that vision?

Nowadays, that's called marriage. You do the work, the wife sips the Mai Tais...
