    That's the hardest thing ever.

Frank, Ollie, Ward, Milt, Eric, Marc and the rest of the gang could do it, in scene after scene after scene.....

I can seldom achieve it for even a fraction of a single scene, if at all.

For shorts, I actually prefer WB's over Disney's. Somehow, I feel I'm a kindred soul with Bugs B.

I think the illusion of life is so difficult to master because the "formula" came from the mind of a man whose vision was unique. WED's animators achieved it, but he inspired it.

And yeah, I'd like to be as cool as Bugs is, (using the term in its original sense!)

That's the one thing that Warner's have over Disney. Bugs is more memorable than even the best Disney character. And that's saying a lot!!

I haven't put up the new game just yet, because I've been thinking maybe we should see if the games can be "enhanced" a bit, to make them more appealing to the many members who belong to this community but who rarely, if ever, join in the games.

My thinking here is based on the well-known and amply-proven scientific grounds that, the more, the merrier...

I've suggested two versions before, the "quotes" version, and the "sound bite" version, but they didn't seem to catch on.

Anybody have any bright ideas, then?

Eh, I like the quotes idea. But typing a quote could be too easily answered by searching for it via google, unless you'd choose some quotes that aren't "much" famous or that doesn't takes a big part of the movie. But still, it could never ends if no ones finds them!

Yeah, that was always the problem. But, the trick would be to find a quote that, as you say, wasn't "famous" or even particularly notable, yet was unique to the movie.

On the other hand, googlable quotes would make for very quick games. And it would also make it easier to win even if you hadn't seen the movie, or didn't have lots of time to do the research. I think the latter is probably the problem with a lot of members. If games were quicker and "easier", everyone could get involved and enjoy a game from time to time.

Also, it need not be necessary to post quotes exactly, verbatim, word-for-word. You could post them more or less correct, as long as they were close enough. Save the trouble of watching the whole movie with the sound on, listening closely to find a good line.

For example, " To tell the truth, I don't really remember either, because of all this excitement". Anybody would guess the movie from that!

Or... we could put a time limit on the existing versions. If nobody has an answer in, say, 48 hours, the host would reveal the answer, and the next game would be hosted by the first member to nominate himself to host.

With that version, grabs would have to be much easier. That would take less time for the host, too.

I'm just thinking that changes like these might get more members involved to share in this fun little diversion of ours. Could call them "Instant Games", or whatever.

As you've probably noticed, I've imposed a three-day time limit on my games. On the third day, the clues and grabs have become very easy... just see this game.

Yes, I did notice you terminated this one at Day 3. But I'm thinking it might be good to limit games to no more than 48 hours. That is, for the host to reveal the answer without further ado, at 48 hours on the dot.

And the grabs would be much more obvious, too. I think that would give the busier members a chance to quickly pop in for a turn. And, if winners are no longer automatically required to host the next game, it could be started by whoever had a game ready. This would allow occasional players to jump in, jump out, and go about their business.

I don't know. I've just been wondering lately why only the usual suspects are playing the games, and I thought time constraints might be a factor.

I think to make the 48 hour limit interesting there should be some consequence for the players if the game isn't completed on time. We want members to be more involved, not just to make the games easier.

The consequence would be that they don't get a chance to host the next game. Can't think of anything else to motivate people to play. Unless the "List of Winners" is regularly updated and made more prominent. Maybe "Solved by....." could be added to the title after a game is won.

Sometimes the games are difficult, especially in thr beginning. If busy people don't get even a vague idea of a possible answer from the first grabs, they'll not be inclined to persevere. As in all good movies, the opening shot should really grab the players. Best way to do that is to post tantalising pictures.

Yes, but I meant people could just post a quote as best they recall it, not deliberately misquote. That would save time watching movies right through to find the exactwording of a quote.

Of course, if the host can recall the exact wording, they would use it.
