Default What you guys'n'gals think of Twixtor?

So what you guys'n'gals think of Twixtor?

Who's using what version? (Full version/interactive use vs render only for Premiere Pro/AE, FCP FxPlug version, Twixtor for Vegas Pro 10d and up)

What exactly does it do and how do you like the platforms/plugins?

    Quote:
"Twixtor consistently gives the smoothest speed-shifted footage with the least amount of sweat..." and "absolute superiority in time frame manipulation..." and "the best plug-in method for creating speed changes, slow-motion effects, and frame-rate conversions".
Is it really that good? Quite a price tag!

    Anyone have good samples?

Tried it but found it a PITA - I might give it another go but for the most part it's just too gimmicky for my tastes. Once you've seen any old crap slowed down once, you've seen it all.

I never saw a need for it. Apple's Optical Flow (built into Motion) is good enough for me.

If by that you mean do I have it or would I purchase it? Maybe?

As long as you know its limitations, and don't expect too much, Twixor is a convenient and usable tool. Especially when you consider the cost and complexity of getting that look via conventional means. Just remember, it is only a tool. The creativity (how its applied) remains in you.

Personally, when I tried it a couple years ago, I never been impressed. But it was with regular DV footage.
I've read somewhere that they used it in DRIVEN and BLADE 2. So maybe it worth it after all...
    Not for me though.
I DO IT BECAUSE I CAN. I CAN BECAUSE I WANT TO. I WANT TO BECAUSE YOU SAID I COULDN'T.

On the other hand, I've just searched and found this, which is probably the best result I've seen with Twixtor used:

An interesting display, but unremarkable in execution. A slow track or pan and better edits (show the release and fall) would have yielded dramatically better results. Don't you think?
