    Default Tutorials?

So I just got a call for a film shooting on the Red. I believe they're using a Red One. I've never shot on it before so I'm wondering if there are any nice in depth tutorials on the menus or anything? We're going into meetings this weekend and I need to be prepared. There are a few tutorials on youtube but they're not really what I'm looking for.

    This should be interesting.

Screw the tutorials - I would get my hands on one ASAP and figure out how to fit a film magazine to it.

    p.s. In conjunction with tutorials.

Best way would be to play around with one. Ask Erik Bien, I think he shot some stuff with REDs.
I DO IT BECAUSE I CAN. I CAN BECAUSE I WANT TO. I WANT TO BECAUSE YOU SAID I COULDN'T.

There's a tutorial video series called RED 101 that can get you up to speed quickly (if you don't mind paying for it). A few of those videos, along with others, are available for free through RED.com. You can also download the RED One Operations Guide.

I've never owned a RED One, and it's been some time since I shot with one, but I'm happy to help if I can. Although this video uses the somewhat different Scarlet/Epic menu system, the exposure tools, and how best to use them, are quite similar to those of R1. I'd recommend a "base" ISO of 320 for original "M sensor" RED Ones; for cameras upgraded to the "MX sensor," ISO 800 is generally accepted as a better starting point.
