Default 1/8" Mono to 1/8" Stereo Adapter for Mics. Is this the one?

    Hi everyone,

I've done a search and have read a lot of posts in the forum that to get a mono mic to produce sound on both the Left and Right Channels, you need a mono to stereo adapter. Unfortunately, I cannot see any links to this adapter nor can I find it on B&H for example.

Can someone please visit this link on the RadioShack website and let me know if this is what I need to get a 1/8" mono mic to produce sound on both channels of the HV20's stereo mic?

    Thank you so much!

what kind of cable it coming from you mic? XLR? 1/4" mono? 1/8" mono?

This plug definitely goes from mono to stereo but depending on your mic it may or may not be what YOU need.

Sorry, yes, my mic is a Lapel Mic (mono) with a 1/8" (3.5mm) jack. Also, in the future I may purchase the Azden SGM-X - Supercardioid Shotgun Condenser Microphone with Mini Output which also has a 1/8" jack on it.

    Please advise.

    Thanks!

Certainly, if the description is right, that's what you need. it's just wired to "Y" off the signal so it goes to both channels.

Radio Shack kinda rules, thank goodness they still exist. I don't know what I'd have done all these years of my life without them. lol.

    Thanks skiltrip!

I purchased the adapter today and it works. I think my old 'Realistic' (Radio Shack brand) lapel from 10 years ago may not be working the best however. Perhaps it's time to find a fairly inexpensive lapel mic.... can't seem to find one other than the AUDIO TECHNICA ATR-35S and the last few reviews on Amazon.com for this mic have not been the best though

    Cheers,

    Rico.
